Sassy the Cat

It had been about 2 years since we had to put our last furry lovable baby to sleep after 18 years of loving and nose kisses. As a pet owner, you know that is not easy to do and unfortunately we have to do it more times than we want to. I've had many furry babies I've loved and even fought for over the years that have gone on to the big cat condo on the sky. I remember every one of them and will never forget them.Sassy Cat

My mom called me and said there was a baby kitten as small as a rat that showed up. She thought it was a rat as it ran out of the bushes while she was watering. Putting my last furry baby to sleep really hurt and I had decided I was not going to become close or own any more pets. Until I met Sassy!

When I first saw her, she was so tiny and came right up to me and started purring. I picked her up and looked her in the eyes and then gave her a big nose rub kiss. That was it, she started purring even louder and in fact when I set her down, she was purring so hard she fell over. I was hooked. I had found a new furry loveable critter or she found me. Turns out she is the only survivor of her Momma's litter and a fighter as I soon found out.

We had her about six months when my daughter accidentally broke her leg. It wasn't a normal break, it broke it at the joint. The vet gave me two choices: Put her to sleep or pay over 1000 dollars to have a complicated FHO operation where they remove part of the bone and then the muscle grows in to mimic a ball socket. Well, I was not about to put her to sleep only after just finding her and she had her whole life ahead of her, so Visa saved the day.

After the operation, I slept with the little furry girl on the floor so she wouldn't feel lonely. Even though she could not walk, she would drag herself to the her litter box and not once even to this day has she gone to the bathroom on the floor. I think she thinks I'm her momma now because of those nights we slept together on the floor and I comforted her letting know she was going to be OK. She follows me every where now and even likes to groom my hair for me at 5:30 every morning like clock work. I don't need an alarm clock anymore.

She is doing great now and thinks she is a Puma. She likes to chase lizards and since I fenced my yard in so she can't get out, I let her play out side and she can come in and out through the cat door we put in. We ended up naming her Sassy because she has quite the sassy attitude and it fits her personality.

She's one loveable critter and she inspired me to create this site so that maybe I can help other cat lovers with their furry babies!
